Professional movers carrying a box outside a residential building in Edmonton.

You’ve probably spent years in Avonmore enjoying those quiet streets, the ravine trails out your back door, and the kind of neighbours who actually say hi when you pass them. Now that you’re planning a move, the last thing you need is some crew that treats your stuff like cargo. We’re a top moving company that actually gets what makes this neighbourhood special, and we bring that same care to every box, every piece of furniture, and every tight corner we navigate on moving day.

Trusted Movers Who Know Avonmore

These 1950s bungalows weren’t built with moving trucks in mind. Narrow driveways, back lanes, and streets lined with mature trees mean you need a crew that’s done this before. YEG Movers has spent years working in Avonmore, and we’ve learned every trick for getting large furniture out of small doorways without leaving a mark. We show up with floor runners, furniture pads, and the patience to do the job right.

A Process Built Around Your Schedule

Life doesn’t pause because you’re moving. Kids still need to get to school, work deadlines don’t disappear, and somehow the fridge still needs groceries. Our relocation team is available any time to walk through the details with you. You’ll get a clear work order with every cost spelled out before we show up. Two days before your move, our operations manager calls to confirm the timeline and see if anything’s changed.

Full-Service Support for Every Situation

Maybe you’re upgrading to one of the newer builds near 76 Avenue. Maybe you’ve been in the same house for thirty years, and it’s finally time to downsize. Either way, we adjust to fit your situation. Need packing help? We’ve got supplies and hands ready. Possession dates not lining up? Our heated storage facility keeps everything safe until you’re ready.

Helping Avonmore Families and Businesses

We’ve moved young couples into their first place near Bonnie Doon, helped families settle closer to Avonmore School, and relocated small businesses along Argyll Road. Our shop on 93 Avenue keeps us close to this side of the city, and we genuinely like being part of moves that help people start their next chapter in a neighbourhood they love.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Think of it as a grand adventure! Pack like you’re preparing for a treasure huntโ€”everything in one place, labeled with the enthusiasm of a pirate’s map. And remember, the more organized you are, the less time you’ll spend searching for that one crucial item that always seems to go missing.

Treat them like VIPs! Arrange a cozy ‘pet suite’ for them, complete with their favorite toys and snacks. Maybe even consider a ‘pet concierge’โ€”aka, a friend whoโ€™ll make sure your furry friend gets their daily dose of cuddles and treats.

Turn packing into a game show! Challenge yourself to see how quickly you can pack a box or make it a competition with family members. The winner gets bragging rights and maybe even a homemade trophyโ€”crafted from packing peanuts, of course.

Get creative with your labels! Instead of just โ€œkitchen,โ€ try โ€œWhere the Magic Happensโ€ or โ€œHome of the Tasty Delights.โ€ Itโ€™ll make unpacking a lot more fun and give your movers a chuckle or two.

Wrap them in bubble wrap and call it their โ€œsecurity blanket.โ€ Just imagine theyโ€™re on a royal journey, and youโ€™re their trusty guardian ensuring they arrive in style, complete with an occasional pop for good luck.

Unpacking can be a race! Set a timer and see how much you can get done before it goes off. For extra fun, make it a family relay race where each person tackles a different room, and then celebrate with a dance party once youโ€™re done.

Imagine youโ€™re in an epic heist movieโ€”strategize your moves, recruit a team of strong allies (friends or movers), and make use of all the gadgets (dollies and straps) in your โ€œtoolkitโ€ to maneuver your treasure safely through the labyrinth of doorways and hallways.

Unpack the essentials firstโ€”your favorite blanket, the coffee maker, and anything that makes you feel cozy. Itโ€™s like setting up a mini-vacation in your new home before you dive into the daily grind.

Channel your inner action hero and tackle it with confidence. Whether itโ€™s a broken item or a minor hiccup, handle it with flair and remember, every great adventure has a few plot twists. Just laugh it off and keep moving forward.

Think of it like planning a partyโ€”budget for the essentials and sprinkle in some fun extras if you can. Create a โ€œMoving Budget Bingoโ€ where you mark off items as you handle them, and reward yourself with a small treat once you hit a bingo!

We suggest emptying out the contents of drawers into moving boxes to reduce the stress on the piece of furniture which is being moved. It is also harder to move a dresser full of clothes than empty; therefore it may increase the amount of time it takes to move the piece.

No, unfortunately for legal & liability reasons we do not allow customers to ride in the moving truck. We arrange a taxi or chauffeur for you, at an added cost.

For local moves payment is due at the completion of the move, or in some cases before the unload if the move is to go past business hours, or if the customer does not have a credit card on file. For long distance moves, payment is always due prior to the unload.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Amex, American Express, Email Money Transfer, Bank Draft, Money Order. There is a processing charge of 4% on credit cards.

We absolutely do! All our trucks are wrapped in our company branding. During the busy season we do sometimes have to rent trucks although the rentals are still equipped with all the necessary moving equipment.
